Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP)

Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is one of the most common—and preventable—causes of childhood blindness worldwide. Among the 15 million babies born preterm (before 37 completed weeks of gestation) each year, approximately 15 to 20% are affected by ROP.

With early diagnosis, appropriate treatment, and preventive care, healthcare professionals can play a critical role in protecting the eyesight of vulnerable infants.
